Businesses and Community Partners
Thank you for supporting our student-athletes. The new OHSAA NIL policy allows high school students to engage in personal branding opportunities—but the rules are strict, and both students and businesses must comply to protect eligibility.
Midview's role is to educate student-athletes and families about NIL policies and to ensure compliance. All NIL conversations must be directed to individual student-athletes and their parents and/or guardians. Midview personnel cannot review, approve or negotiate contracts, help connect organizations with student-athletes, allow use of Midview facilities or apparel or participate in or influence NIL deals.
How to Work with a Student-Athlete Legally:
- Contact the student or their parent/guardian directly.
- Create a written agreement that outlines:
- Compensation
- Expectations
- Timeline and deliverables
- Clear statement that no school affiliation will be used
- Keep all marketing separate from school branding.
- Ask the student to provide proof of OHSAA disclosure once submitted.
